The Macallan “M Copper” Decanter (Release 2024)
Release 2024 – Hand-Blown Crystal, Copper Insert
The Macallan “M Copper” Decanter (Release 2024) distils the house’s long-standing philosophy—wood mastery, provenance-driven maturation, and uncompromising craft—into a contemporary object conceived as both single malt and museum-grade design. Positioned within the celebrated “M” decanter lineage, this edition pays a direct tribute to the distillery’s copper stills through a satin copper inlay, while the hand-blown crystal form elevates it beyond bottle into collectible sculpture. Matured for over 25 years in a selection of American and European oak casks, it presents a natural warm amber hue with copper-toned highlights, echoing the metal detail of the decanter. The nose opens with candied orange peel and ripe lemon, followed by acacia honey, bourbon vanilla and a gentle thread of nutmeg. On the palate, the profile deepens into peach and dried apricot, salted butter caramel and sweet tobacco, carried by a velvety texture with toasted almond and a restrained white-pepper lift. The finish is long and enveloping, settling into bitter cocoa and a faint reminiscence of smoked oak. Produced in extremely limited quantities and presented in a meticulously finished display case, this release is aimed at collectors who weigh rarity, presentation integrity, and The Macallan’s blue-chip standing within the secondary market when curating a long-term whisky portfolio.
