Rolex Submariner 16610LV "Fat Four"
Reference 16610LV - Serial F01 - Year 2003
The Rolex Submariner 16610LV, also known as the “Kermit,” was introduced in 2003 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Submariner. It features a green aluminum “Kermit” bezel and a black maxi dial with larger indices and hands compared to previous models. This watch is powered by the Caliber 3135 movement and has a 40 mm stainless steel case.
The Kermit is widely recognized not only as a beautiful Rolex to wear but also as a highly collectible piece. Bloomberg even included this reference in its list of the Top 50 Investment Watches (Bloomberg x Subdial 50).
At Collecto, we offer the “Fat Four” version, distinguished from the standard Kermit by the shape of the number 4 on the bezel, which has a flat top forming a trapezoid within the numeral. While this detail may seem minor, it is highly valued by collectors, as the “Fat Four” was only produced in the first years of the 16610LV’s production.
The Fat Four is therefore rarer and more distinctive than the standard Kermit, with collectors willing to pay a premium for this increasingly scarce piece.
