Pokémon Alakazam Gold Star – EX Crystal Guardians (2006)

Issued at the very end of the EX era, Alakazam Gold Star from EX Crystal Guardians (2006) stands among the last Gold Stars ever printed—an elite subset that has become a benchmark for serious Pokémon TCG collecting. The card pairs one of the franchise’s most iconic Psychic-types with Masakazu Fukuda’s refined, highly stylized interpretation, set against a cosmic full-foil field that captures the late-EX aesthetic at its most mature and collectible.

This specimen is authenticated and encapsulated by Beckett Grading Services as BGS 9.5 GEM MINT, a museum-grade result for a notoriously condition-sensitive foil issue. Its subgrades—Centering 9.5, Edges 9.5, Corners 9.0, Surface 9.5—place it in the upper tier of surviving examples, combining visual presence with the kind of third-party verification and scarcity in top grade that collectors prioritize when building long-term, blue-chip holdings within the Gold Star category. For EX-era specialists, Gold Star focused collections, or investors seeking high-liquidity modern vintage Pokémon, this is a disciplined acquisition with enduring demand at the top of the market.
