Pétrus Pomerol Grand Vin 2020
The Pinnacle of Bordeaux’s Right Bank

Pétrus is the most celebrated and prestigious of all Bordeaux reds, produced in the renowned Pomerol appellation—the most iconic AOC of the Right Bank alongside Saint-Émilion. Originally spanning just six hectares, the estate grew to 11.5 hectares after acquiring the Gazin parcel in 1969.
Owned by the Moueix family since 1947, Pétrus owes its fortune to the unique alchemy between vineyard and grape variety: clay-rich soils on one side, and Merlot on the other, which finds its ideal terroir here. Unlike other illustrious Bordeaux names, Pétrus is almost entirely composed of a single grape variety rather than a blend, resulting in a wine of exceptional richness, complexity, and opulent character. With remarkable aging potential, it has become one of the most expensive wines in the world, its rarity driven by limited production and relentless global demand.
The 2020 vintage has already been hailed as outstanding by leading wine critics, ranking among the finest modern releases alongside 2016, 2010, 2009, and 2000. It is a wine of extraordinary brilliance, combining depth, elegance, and longevity.
Critical acclaim has been unanimous: Wine Advocate, Decanter, and James Suckling each awarded it a perfect 100/100, while Vinous (Antonio Galloni) rated it 99/100 and Jancis Robinson 18.5/20. These scores confirm the 2020 Pétrus as one of the most exceptional vintages in recent history.
