Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC), located in the village of Vosne-Romanée in Burgundy, is one of the most prestigious and sought-after wine producers in the world. Founded in 1869, the domaine is renowned for its Grand Cru wines, crafted almost exclusively from vineyards of the highest classification. Its legendary parcels include Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, and Montrachet, each with unique characteristics and exceptional aging potential.
DRC is celebrated for its rigorous and traditional methods of production, including organic and biodynamic cultivation, meticulous vineyard care, and extremely low yields. These factors, combined with strict grape selection, contribute to the extraordinary quality and rarity of its wines. With limited production and immense global demand, DRC bottles consistently achieve record prices at auction and are considered solid investments for collectors.
The La Tâche 2007 is composed entirely of Pinot Noir from the domaine’s monopole vineyard of 6.06 hectares, ensuring purity and a unique identity. The bouquet is complex, with ripe red fruits, exotic spices, floral and earthy notes, and subtle hints of truffle and undergrowth. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with silky, well-integrated tannins, remarkable depth, and robust structure. The wine displays perfect balance between lively acidity and rich concentration of flavors, evolving beautifully with age.
Despite the challenges of the 2007 vintage, marked by variable weather conditions, the domaine’s meticulous selection and winemaking techniques resulted in a wine of exceptional quality—an enduring testament to DRC’s mastery.
